I wa traveling, and I just wanted a hot dog. I found The hot dog king restaurant, and im glad that I stopped here. First, the service that I was given from Mrs. Starvoula was first class. She was very kind and pleasant. She was very personal, I asked her where she was from, and it started a long continuous conversation. The hot dogs were the best I've tasted. I added some chillie sourkraut on my dogs. I also oeder a buger. If I ever visit anywhere near this restaurant, I will make sure that I make the effort to drive to support this hospitable restaurant. I tried to go home with Mrs. Starvoula, my wife told her, told her how much trouble I get in.
This is the only hot dog place I will ever go to. Their hot dogs are delicious with the choice of many toppings, their fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the atmosphere is so welcoming and kind, the picture of Southern Hospitality. When you come here you're family, you get your belly full of delicious food for a good price and you leave with a smile.
This was my first visit here the atmosphere was very welcoming. I ordered one hotdog with chili and mustard and a beer brat with chili and mustard and a side of fries with cheese. My order came to $15. This is a very simple lunch and it was very tasty. Highly recommend will definitely revisit.
Dogs were great! Buy the dogs and the toppings are free! Server made great suggestions while I was tring to figure out what to put on them. Very reasonable price too!. A+ Hot Dog joint.
My grandparents brought me to HDK all the time when I was a kid. There's a nostalgia and warmth to this place that transcends the simple and delicious cuisine that they serve. I hope to one day see HDK celebrate their 100th anniversary and continue to be a staple in the lives of those who live here.
